I have very little pain and have never had psoriasis. The joints in my fingers can become quite swollen but it is not painful. The stiffness in my legs has responded well to my current treatment. My doctor wants to replace the sulfasalizine with methotrexate to see if that helps the swelling in my fingers. I'm very hesitant to start methotrexate given the possible side effects, etc. He doesn't feel I'm doing as well as I think I am and says I should not judge my condition by the fact that I have very little pain. Should I try the methotrexate? I'm a 59 year old female.
