The aim of the project is to demonstrate certain aspects of engineering materials in different applications.
The projects will be assessed on the basis of a written Research Report. The report should clearly show what you have learned from the project and it should contain at least 5,000 words excluding tables, figures and references. The report may follow the following structure:
- Title page
- Table of contents
- Abstract
- Background / Literature review
- Body
- Conclusions
- References
Students can choose one of the following topics for their project:
- Biomedical materials
- Aerospace materials
- Automotive materials
- Carbon: Different structures and uses
- Steels: Advancements over the last 100 years
- The many uses of Iron
- Materials of the future
- Smart materials
- Thermal properties of material and applications
- Electrical properties of material and applications
- Materials used in electrical engineering
- Materials used in civil engineering
You are required to inform the topic coordinator (via email) what topic from the above list you would like to select for your research project.
